This year, Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand continued to build upon over 20 years' experience of award-winning local productions with a second season of the networks hit reality series, SLIME CUP, which featured more kids, slime and challenges than ever before in the history of Nickelodeon AUNZ!
SLIME CUP combines all the elements which kids have loved in long-standing properties such as Camp Orange and SLIMEFEST, taking slime to new heights. The series is the most comprehensive multiplatform production series in Nickelodeon Australia's history, featuring specialised games and exclusive short-form content on Nick’s digital and social platforms, including the chance for kids to create their own SLIME CUP course online at slimecup.com.au!
For SLIME CUP 2017, hosted by local presenter Kristy Best (Neighbours) and international hosts Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin from the hit Nickelodeon comedy series The Thundermans stars, Nickelodeon searched for the toughest kids from across Australia and New Zealand through online and live auditions held at Mt Druitt in New South Wales and the Gold Coast. Thousands of slime-loving kids entered to compete in the craziest, most slime-soaked TV show ever...
...but only 15 of the most mighty teams were chosen to compete in the slimy games for a chance to win the ultimate prize: The Dude Doubles: the Lit Lads, Team Bolt and the Danger Rangers; Class Clowns: the Cowabunga Crew, Mighty Pandas and the Sponge Gods; Sista Squads: Bad As Ballerinas, Purple Pukana and the Split Masters; Fierce Fams: the Batsibs, Bendyz, and the Goo Monkeys; and the Cray Cray Combos: Dapdoid, Red Runners and The Emils.
In a series of crazy challenges, splatacular spills, and unspeakably OTT tasks, the teams were put to the test on their stamina, strength and stomachs to determine who had what it took to win, with the most mighty team taking out the 2017 SLIME CUP!
Each week saw three teams of two besties take on a series of slimy larger-than-life inflatable challenges in the Slime Arena that covered them head-to-toe in slime to prove their might and be the team to advance onto the final.
To guarantee that the SLIME CUP was 1000% slimier than ever 100% of the time, the Slime Squad - a group of faceless, graceless, cray-cray white-suited master-miners of slime who are obsessed with unleashing mess, silently wreaked havoc behind the scenes on every challenge and every slime spray!
At the end of fifth episode, SLIME CUP 2017 had its finalists: Dapdoid, the Danger Rangers, Cowabunga Crew, Bad As Ballerinas, and the Batsibs. Each team proved they were worthy winners, but only one lucky pair of besties could be crowned the winners of SLIME CUP 2017 in the final of SLIME CUP 2017, and that team is...
