The British Animation Awards has announced the very exciting Nickelodeon UK news that the popular Nick Jr. UK animated series Puffin Rock and Lily's Driftwood Bay have been nominated for awards in the 2016 British Animation Awards (BAAs)!
Held every two years, the British Animation Awards, now in its 20th year, reward the very best in British animation across a variety of categories.
This year's ceremony will be held at London's BFI Southbank on Thursday 10th March 2016.
Lily's Driftwood Bay has been nominated for Best Preschool Series in this years British Animation Awards for the sentimental episode "Goodbye Seabird", in which Lily helps Bull find the perfect way to say goodbye to his old friend, Razorbill.
Additionally, the Irish actor and comedian Chris O'Dowd (Moone Boy, The IT Crowd, Bridesmaids) has been nominated for the "Best Voice Performance" BAA award for his narration in the Puffin Rock episode "Night Lights". In the episode, Oona makes a nighttime trip to the sea all by herself.
"We are incredibly excited to be putting on this wonderful celebration of British animation in the 20th year since the British Animation Awards began," said BAA director, Jayne Pilling.
"We've had some fantastic winners over the years but the calibre of this year's finalists prove that the animation industry is in better health than ever!"
Animation students and fans will also have a chance to reward their favourite work in the Public Choice Awards for Favourite Short Film and Music Video and younger viewers will also have their say in the Children's Choice Award, where a panel of young children will choose from the finalists in both the children’s categories.
