Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has promoted three members of its senior management team across Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the company has also hired a new VP of strategy and business development for VIMN Asia.
Former VP of youth and music Laura Abril has been upped to Senior Vice President (SVP) of both youth and music, as well as VIMN's family brands, in the regions. In her new remit, Abril will oversee brands for both Nickelodeon and MTV.
A second promotion sees former Vice President (VP) of comedy Amalia Martinez de Velasco become SVP of entertainment brands, with an expanded role covering Comedy Central, Paramount Channel and Spike.
Also landing an extended remit is Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) VP of licensing Stefano Araldi, who will now be responsible for leading the network's licensing, consumer products and recreation business across all territories in the regions.
Rounding out the moves, VIMN Asia has appointed former head of strategy and business development for BBC Worldwide Asia Amit Arora as its VP of strategy and business development. Based in Singapore and reporting to VIMN Asia Executive Vice President (EVP) and Managing Director (MD) Mark Whitehead, Arora will be tasked with driving the organization's cross-business growth strategy.
Prior to his role at BBC Worldwide, Arora held executive positions with ABC Television/The Walt Disney Company, Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner Cable in the USA.
The appointments follow the promotions of Jon Graham and Tanya Visano by VIMN Americas earlier this month within its Canadian office, and Nickelodeon Asia's upping of 15-year Viacom veteran Syahrizan Mansor to VP of Nickelodeon Asia in March 2015.
