Nickelodeon hit-maker Dan Schneider presents Fun Facts You Probably Didn't Know About "Zoey 101"!:
Did you know...
- Pacific Coast Academy doesn't actually exist? "Zoey 101" was originally filmed at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles County, California.
- In season three, production moved to Santa Clarita in California. All the sets were perfectly re-created by Genius Production Designer Harry Matheu.
- In the original pilot script, the character "Quinn Pensky" did not exist. When Erin Sanders auditioned for another role, show creator Dan Schneider was so impressed with her, he created the role of "Quinn Pensky" specifically for Erin to play.
- In the series finale episode "Chasing Zoey", Sean Flynn returned to reprise his role as "Chase Matthews". BUT... he had short hair. So, a very special wig was created to make him look like he did in earlier seasons.
- Sean Flynn is also the grandson of 1950's mega movie star Errol Flynn.
- The song "Sassafras Tea" is often sung by Stacey Dillsen (Abby Wilde). Dan came up with the song while driving to set one morning, singing it into a tape recorder.
- Originally, Dan wanted Stacey Dillsen to be obsessed with "Q-Tips". But since "Q-Tips" are a brand name, he couldn't use it on the show. So, Dan changed Stacey's obsession to "Cotton Swabs".
- During taping of "The Curse of PCA" there wasn't enough time for Jamie Lynn Spears to shoot all of her scenes. So the writers rewrote the script to include a bucket getting stuck on Zoey Brooks' head. A look-a-like played Zoey in those scenes.
