Nickelodeon Africa has announced on their brand-new Nick Jr. website the exciting Nickelodeon International News that Nick Jr. Africa, Nickelodeon Africa's brand-new localised version of Nickelodeon's popular preschool channel, will start to premiere and show the brand-new animated preschool series "Wanda and the Alien" soon after the channel launches on DStv channel 307 on Tuesday 30th September 2014!
Friends come in all shapes and sizes. Based on the books by best selling author Sue Hendra, "Wanda and the Alien" is a pre-school animated series about wonder and unconditional friendship. When a young and scared alien crashes with his space rocket into the woods, little rabbit Wanda's world becomes even more interesting and exciting. After a few moments of hesitation, they are now the best friends in the universe.
The Alien has a unique gift that makes him very special: he can freeze a moment in time so that you can see the magical details in it from different points of view. Even a splash in the water can become special if you can catch it and wear it like a crown! Combining an enchanting story with the best 2D animation, every episode sees the two characters exploring the beauty and the wonders of Wanda's charming forest and the Alien's incredible and funny planet, while highlighting the importance of values such as friendship, trust and kindness. Follow Wanda and the little Alien as they discover things out of their worlds!
"Wanda and the Alien" (52 x 10 minutes) is co-produced by UK-based Random House and Komixx Entertainment.
Nickelodeon acquired the rights to Random House Children's Screen Entertainment's "Wanda and the Alien" under a global deal (excluding the US) with London-based distributor CAKE in 2013 that will see the new animated preschool series head to more than 70 Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels around the world (Nickelodeon International). The Nickelodeon deal marks the first key international agreement for "Wanda and the Alien" and a large step for Random House's first book-to-screen venture.
