C21Media is reporting the Nickelodeon News that Nickelodeon Asia, the Asian version of the popular kids channel, has picked up the television broadcast rights Mediatoon Distribution's animated series "Little Spirou" (78 episodes x 7′ minutes). The 2D series, based on the comic books by Tome & Janry, centres on a crafty young boy, and was coproduced by Dupuis Editions & Audiovisuels, Aranéo and Luxanimation in 2012. The Spirou brand is now 75 years old and has spawned two other TV series, "Spirou" (52x26′) and "Spirou & Fantasio" (39x26′), which have been sold into more than 120 countries, according to Mediatoon:
Spirou charms Irish channel
An Irish broadcaster has picked up Mediatoon Distribution’s animated series Little Spirou (78x7′), following sales in Europe, the Middle East and Canada.

TG4 in Ireland acquired the toon from Paris-based Mediatoon, which has also sold the series to TV Catalunya and TV Galicia in Spain, Noga in Israel and Telequebec in French-speaking Canada.
M6 in France, RTBF in Belgium, RTS in Switzerland and Nickelodeon Asia have already picked up the show, which centres on a crafty young boy.

French distributor Mediatoon Distribution has announced a spate of new international broadcasting sales for its 2D animated series Little Spirou (78 x 7). Additionally the Spirou brand is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year with special events and project launches.
Following the show’s presentation at MIPCOM last fall, Little Spirou has been picked up by Noga (Israel), TG4 (Ireland), TV Catalunya and TV Galicia (Spain) and TeleQuebec (French-speaking Canada). Additionally, DVD publication company Kaibou has acquired the rights for the debut season for Canada in order to plump out their kids’ content catalogue. Previously announced sales include M6, Teletoon (France), FTBF (Belfium), RTS (Switzerland) and Nickelodeon Asia.
In honor of the mischievous little Spirou’s 75th anniversary, Mediatoon is organizing a series of events in France, Belgium and Switzerland. These will include the Spirou Tour through 10 cities, exhibitions and the launch of new comic books. In addition to Little Spirou, the brand boasts two other animated series: Spirou (52 x 26) and Spirou & Fantasio (39 x 26), sold in over 120 countries.

The series has been picked up by NOGA (Israël), TG4 (Ireland), TV CATALUNYA and TV GALICIA (Spain) as well as TELEQUEBEC (French-speaking Canada).
Also in Canada, DVD publication company KAIBOU has acquired the rights for the debut season.
The recent sales add to previous sales to M6, TELETOON (France), RTBF (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland) and Nickelodeon Asia.
