Leading kids broadcasters headed to Asian Animation Summit
As the first annual Asian Animation Summit (AAS) set for December 10-11 quickly approaches, a number of prominent international broadcast executives have confirmed their attendance for the event which will take place at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.
Broadcasters confirmed for the summit include:
Jules Borkent – SVP of programming and acquisitions, Nickelodeon International
Karen Miller – executive director, acquisitions and co-productions, Disney Channels Worldwide
Sarah Muller – head of development and acquisitions, CBBC, BBC Children's
Jocelyn Hamilton – VP of original programming, kids, comedy and drama, Corus Entertainment
Tiphaine de Raguenel – head of children’s and youth activities, France Télévisions
Frank Dietz – deputy program director/head of acquisitions and co-productions, Super RTL
Kim Wilson – creative head, children's and youth programming, CBC Canada
Laurence Blaevoet – director of youth programming, Canal+
Henrietta Hurford-Jones – director of CBeebies Investment, BBC Worldwide
Nicole Keeb – head of international co-productions and acquisitions, Children and Youth, ZDF
Carole Bonneau – VP of programming, TELETOON Canada
Luca Milano – head of animation production, RAI Fiction
In addition, broadcasters from the Asian region planning to attend include Australia's ABC TV; Malaysia's Media Prima, Astro, RTM and TV Al-Hijrah; Korea's KBS, EBS and Tooniverse, Singapore’s Mediacorps; and the Asian offices of Nickelodeon, Disney and Cartoon Network.
An initiative of Australia’s ABC TV, Korea’s KOCCA and Malaysia’s MDeC, the Asian Animation Summit is produced and owned by Kidscreen, and will showcase the best new animated projects from Australia, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore to potential co-producers, broadcasters, distributors and investors.
AAS 2012 takes place two days after Asia Television Forum (December 5 to 7), with a weekend in between for travel from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur.
