[ACTION!]
We're already out there doing good.
For our environment, our schools, ourselves, and our community.
BUT doing all those things together is what Nickelodeon's The Big Help is all about.
Let's start with the environment.
We all care about it, and there's a lot we can do to help, like turning off the computer when you're not using it,
or, drinking from an reusable bottle.
Female voice over artist: Tell us what you're doing to help. For more ideas on how you can make a big difference, go online today to learn more [Nick.co.uk/TheBigHelp].
Victoria Justice: Because together, we can move the world.
NICKELODEON UK LAUNCHES THE BIG HELP
This press release is transmitted on behalf of Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon UK - the number one satellite and cable channel for all kids - has launched The Big Help to get kids involved in the area where they live, wherever they live.
Nickelodeon UK is encouraging kids up and down the country to take an active role in their local communities through projects of their choice either individually or as part of a group.
To support the initiative, the channel has produced 10,000 information packs containing ideas and instructions to give kids a helping hand in choosing their projects.
Kids can also use the channel's AOL site, web-site and Nicktext to find out how they can be a 'Big Helper' in their community. Nickelodeon UK will also be encouraging kids to communicate their achievements using Nick UK's unique Freepost, freephone and free fax services.
Janie Grace, Managing Director, Nickelodeon UK, commented: "Nickelodeon UK is responding to the demands of kids to be given the opportunity to effect change in their local communities. This initiative is a small beginning but we hope it will help to make a difference."
The channel will showcase three projects in the United Kingdom. These projects are land reclamation in Ogmore Vale, Bridgend, Wales; a wildlife project in Kinloch Rannoch, Scotland and a school's community projects in Wolverhampton. Each project will be filmed for broadcast on the channel.
Saturday, October 4 has been nominated as Nickelodeon UK's Big Help Day on-air. Nickelodeon UK will celebrate the achievements of all the youngsters who became involved, including coverage of the three key events and footage from other kids around the UK.
