Penguin exec picks up S&S role
The editorial director of media and entertainment at books-to-TV publisher Penguin Children's UK is leaving to join rival Simon & Schuster Children's UK.
Meg Wang, who oversees physical and digital books for brands including Peppa Pig, In the Night Garden, Club Penguin and Little Kingdom at Penguin, will fill the newly created position of editorial director for licensed properties at Simon & Schuster from November 28.
In her new job, Wang will oversee digital and physical book developments for a list of brands that includes Octonauts, Mike the Knight, The Smurfs and the Nickelodeon portfolio.

Simon & Schuster Children’s UK has named Meg Wang to the newly created position of editorial director for licensed properties.
Wang, formerly the media and entertainment editorial director at Penguin Children’s UK, will be responsible for Simon & Schuster’s expanding licensed character list, which includes the Octonauts and the BBC’s new series Mike the Knight. She will also oversee the Nickelodeon portfolio and The Smurfs, as well as manage books and digital developments.
